Pixel Scaling - Conclusions
- The pixel structure described above works well at 2.2µm pixel pitch.
- The received power decreases when the pixel size is decreased to 1.45um especially for the Active central region of the pixel.
- The received power decreases dramatically when the pixel size is decreased to 0.97um and the Spatial (Optical) crosstalk increases enormously.
- This 0.97um pixel structure is un-useable at 0.97µm due to low received power and enormous crosstalk to the adjacent pixel.
- Advanced light guiding structures are needed to enable continued scaling of the pixel from 1.45nm to 0.97nm.
