In order to better understand the procedures for digital archiving of paintings employed by such research projects as VASARI and MARC, we have digitally archived our own painting. Our intention was not to beat the results of established research projects, because such projects already have far more specialized equipment than us. Instead, we hope to gain insight into the difficulties often encountered by digital archivists. To this end, we now walk you through our own archiving method.
