As detailed in the explanation of our simple model of photography, we modeled the image intensity simply by the intuitive equation:

Thus, we account for the source light spectrum S(w) and the camera, modeled both by its optics C_optics(w) and the film response C_film(w). In the sections below, we develop models for both the the source lights and the camera itself. The multiplication of these in the wavelength domain leads to an effective transfer function, which we also detail and discuss in the sections below.
