Public Survey

 

Introduction:

We conducted a public survey for getting the general opinion on how the images were doing. The graph shown below shows the comparison made between a regularly scaled image to the image scaled with edge detection. This survey was conducted on a group of 23 Students on what images looked better.

Survey Details:

We compared 4 images. 1.) Bone marrow 2.) BW 3.) Cameraman 4.) Lena. For each of these images we showed the subjects a regular scaled image and a image scaled after edge detection and asked them what image looked better or if they looked the same. These were the results of the survey.

Result:

Almost all of the surveyors felt that the image scaled with edge detection looked better than the normally scaled images. The common word we heard was, "it looks sharper" which goes with our idea of retaining edges. The graph below shows the numbers.
