Is there more "behind" that picture???
3-D images have always been interesting, especially when rendered on a 2-D image. Being prevalent in all aspects of entertainment they appear to bring out the child in everyone. Ever since we were kids they brought out intrigue and curiosity, but never true understanding of how they worked. Taking this class we recollected how several years ago a new fad had evolved—stereograms (SIRDS). It was odd how we both were never able to see them and we realized this project would be a great opportunity to research more in depth of how these art “illusions” are truly created and the concepts behind their construction. A history of technology will be presented in addition to implementation of several intriguing ideas from anaglyphs to single image random dot stereograms to patterned single image stereograms.
