Experiments 1 & 2

For this experiment, exposure times were set for a total of 100ms with 18 uniformly spaced captures. In addition to the red, blue, and green filters used for the first experiment, we also used orange, blue-green, yellow and daylight filters (the first three of which were used for the second experiment). Singular values for the six filters used are:

[9.12   6.14   3.22   1.04   0.84   0.63].

This indicates that the using 4 of the filters may be adequate for reasonable color representation. This light source employed was somewhat ideal in that its power in the infrared range was muted. Furthermore, these filters were especially constructed for the light source, which simplified coupling of the two. However, the power of the light source was much less than optimal, necessitating long exposure times and close placement of the light source to the dollhouse. This unfortunately introduced large amounts of shot noise, which was visible in the resultant images. Dynamic range was extended by about 12 dB at the high illumination end.
