Abstract
Chromameter and spectroradiometer measurements were used to characterize color settings in Adobe Illustrator. The various combinations of color engines and printer output profiles were examined while holding constant a calibrated monitor file and the intents setting. It was found that while Adobe does attempt to match the monitor and printer gamuts it is not a close match. This is quantified by delta E quantities in Lab space. Better methods of color managing are proposed.
