The Demo

This project was primarily concerned with creating tools to aid vision science. As such, there really no wonderful demos per say. You just have to try the functions and see that they work (or fail miserably). Hopefully MATLAB is now running on this computer, and is in the right directory. I urge you to play with the functions and see what output you get...

If MATLAB is not running, type the following at the UNIX Prompt:
ise> project
ise> matlab

However, since everyone is expecting a demo, I wrote a quick little graphical function that compares different MTFs between people with several parameters.

For the demo, you will use the function MTFgraph. Type help MTFgraph at the MATLAB prompt to obtain a summary of the function's capabilities. Then, if you still don't want to go off on your own, type:

>>MTFgraph(50)

This will tell MATLAB that you want your graph from 0-50cpd on the x-axis From here on, follow the instructions for the number of subjects and their respective parameters. If you still need suggestions, try one of the following:
*How age changes MTF
*How your theoretical MTF differs from someone nearby
*The effect of pigmentation
*What crappy answers you can get by plugging in unrealistic numbers.

Note that the average pupil diameter used by Ijspeert is 4mm.

When you're done, MTFgraph will plot all the MTFs on one graph for you.

For example, here's a plot comparing the theoretical MTFs of my mother (Subject2) and I (Subject1):

I guess that I could have chosen a more blatant example, but I wanted to bring my mother into this project somehow...
